Matey on your boat needs it, and it's how you sign in on the boat Wi-Fi when there's no internet. Set it up below; you'll go on to Matey after.

Two-step sign-in
After the emailed code, Boat Bot also asks for a code from an authenticator app on your phone (Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy, 1Password…). Someone who gets into your email still can't get into your boats.
- In your authenticator app, add an account and scan this QR code.
- Can't scan? Enter this key instead:
- Type the 6-digit code the app shows.
You use passkeys. You can also add an authenticator app (needed to sign in on the boat Wi-Fi without internet).

Each boat has its own offline code, so a boat never holds your account's authenticator. Add it to your app once per boat (it shows as "Boat Bot offline").

Passkeys
Use your phone's or computer's fingerprint, face or screen lock instead of the authenticator code. Add one on each device you sign in from. Either a passkey or the authenticator code works.
Sign-in codes, invites and safety or account notices always come by email while you have an account. Everything below is optional. How our emails and texts work.
Text alerts
Texts can be delayed or fail with no signal at sea. Keep a proper watch: alerts are an extra, not a safety system.
